Hi, I’m Nick — founder of FYR REPUBLIC, weekend aspiring pitmaster, lawn-mower-in-chief, and serial outdoor entertainer. Most weekends you’ll find me doing exactly what inspired this brand in the first place:

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Playing with my son, chasing the dogs, and trying to figure out new ways to annoy my wife

There’s something about cooking over fire that I’ve always loved. It’s primal, it's satisfying, and it turns a meal into a memory. I watch cooking videos obsessively, try new recipes constantly, and take far too much pride in perfectly seared steaks and slow-cooked lamb.

The idea for FYR REPUBLIC started out of pure frustration. When I was building my own outdoor kitchen (or at least trying to) — every option sucked.

It was either the so-called “budget” gear from the big retailers that somehow still cost a fortune, or the high-end designer setups with $25K+ price tags that made my eyes water.

What’s crazy is the “cheap” stuff isn’t even cheap — it’s expensive crap. Thin sheet metal that looks like it would dent if a leaf hit it. I just couldn’t justify dropping thousands on something I knew would start rusting about ten minutes after I got it home.

There was nothing in the middle. No high-quality, long-lasting, fair-priced gear made for real people who love good food, good mates, and a bit of fire.

So, I decided to do something about it.

That gap — and a lifelong obsession with cooking over fire — sent me down a rabbit hole of researching, testing, and sourcing the best outdoor gear in the world.

FYR REPUBLIC started with one simple goal — to build outdoor cooking gear that actually made sense. Gear that looked great, performed even better, and lasted more than one summer.

With nearly two decades in international trade and logistics, I knew how to find the right materials, partner with world-class manufacturers, and cut out all the unnecessary middlemen and markups that blow prices out of proportion.


While developing our modular outdoor kitchen range (coming soon), we came across a factory producing seriously high-end BBQs.

We customised, tested, and refined them until they hit our own ridiculous standards — and that became our first release: the FYR Kamado.

It’s built like a tank, looks incredible, and cooks like nothing else. It smokes, sears, bakes, and grills all in one — and it’s just the start.

Our mission now is simple: to bring unique, fun, and ultra-premium BBQs and outdoor products to Aussie backyards. Real gear made with top-shelf materials, direct from world-class manufacturers, without the luxury markups.

Because for us, this isn’t just about BBQs. It’s about the moments that happen around them — the laughter, the smell of charcoal, the sound of tongs clicking, and that unbeatable feeling of hosting something special in your own backyard.
